A couple of things you need to know about this towel. Most importantly, it’s a brilliant design - BUT it has a flaw in workmanship – not a show stopper, but definitely important if you plan to purchase.The issue is the zipper pocket. If you don’t plan to use it then it’s no big deal. But, if you do want to use the zipper - it’s a huge problem. Why? The zipper is not sewn/fastened on either end. This means that the first time you zip or unzip the zipper foot comes right off the end. I worked hard to try to get it back on. No luck. I returned it and a replacement arrived with the same issue. Before trying to use the zipper I solved the problem by sewing each end of the zipper to prevent the zipper foot from coming off (see before/after photos). You could do that or you could even try putting a staple over each end – anything to prevent the foot from just going right off either end. (Oh, and one other nit about the zipper. I don’t like that it’s white – it does show and it doesn’t match the fabric – grrr.)Beyond the zipper issue, I like the towel very much. Such a clever idea to convert to a backpack… probably won’t hold heavy stuff, but a few lighter things. The fabric isn’t a super tight weave, but it works and it’s soft. Haven’t washed it yet, but I expect it will wash up fine. If folded carefully it is compact in size.FOLDING TIP: (See photos) I think there’s two methods to folding this up. One is the ‘wad it up’ method where you just wad the towel into a ball and stuff it inside the backpack. But, for those of us who like things a little tidier, I found that if you fold into thirds longwise on top of the backpack portion and then fold into small roughly 6 inch tall sections all the way up to the base of the backpack and then turn it inside out you end up with a nice tidy little bundle of towel at the bottom of the backpack leaving plenty of room for the other stuff.I ordered this Turkish towel for a lightweight and compact alternative for standard beach towels. Good quality and lightweight beach towel and it rolls up really compact into the carrying bag. Not bulky. This Turkish towel take up less space and it dries so fast! No sand gets in between the fibers making it easy to carry. Great size as well. It’s a sarong /beach cover, a shawl, a blanket, a beach towel. Very versatile, do not regret the purchase one bit.So convenient to bring to the beach! I pack my belongings in the bag and then put them back in the pocket when I lay down the towel. Perfect for solo beach trips.I used this as a towel for the lake and will be taking to the beach with meBefore I used, I washed it. In the wash/dry, a lot of fuzzies came off (so I would recommend washing only on its first wash). It didn't shrink, though the tassels became a bit crinkled.I used this to dry off from a swim and it effectively dried me off and then it quickly dried.I think the design and color (I got the grey/turquoise) is pretty.The bag is an interesting concept, but I think it's just as easy to fold up and put in your beach bag. And the downside is that on the one corner there are no tassels.The towel is a very nice size and the fact that you can roll it up into a little backpack for easy carry is pretty cool. I knocked off a star because I was hoping it would be a little plusher and more absorbent.Right off the bat, the zipper broke the first time I tried to open it. I was able to fix it and it held for the day, but the next time I unzipped it, it broke again.The towel is nice though. It is definitely thin because of the lightweight aspect, so you have to make sure you aren't lying on top of any rocks, but it made it easy to fold up back into the bag and carry it around no issue. It's pretty soft and nice to take a nap on at the beach.I really liked the design of the towel folding up into a bag, but I don't think the price is quite justified on it especially with the poor zipper quality.A little thing and not super absorbent but it’s really cute so it still gets 4 stars! It’s smaller than I expected but I guess I should have looked closer at the description haha
